Shikha Uberoi's dream of making it to the main draw of the women's singles Wimbledon [ Images ] was shattered on Wednesday when she bowed out in the second round of the qualifying tournament.

The US-based Uberoi, who plays for India [ Images ] in the Fed Cup, went down to Victoria Kutuzova of Ukraine 4-6, 5-7.

On Tuesday, she defeated Natalia Grandin of South Africa [ Images ] 6-3, 6-2 in the first round.
