Asia Cup winners India crashed to their third straight defeat, losing their last league match to China 1-2 in the KT Cup women's hockey tournament at Seongnam, Korea, on Wednesday.
England defeated Korea 2-1 to set up a title clash with the same team in the six-nation competition in which India will play Malaysia in the play-off for fifth position.
China got off to a great start when Ma Yibo converted a penalty-stroke in the fourth minute before doubling their lead through Tang Chunling's penalty corner midway through the first half.
India reduced the margin five minutes before full time but could not add any more to their tally as China book a match with Ireland for the bronze medal.
Ireland continued their fine run in the competition, thrashing minnows Malaysia 4-0 in a one-sided encounter today.
Today's loss was India's third in five matches. After beating Malaysia 7-1 in their lung opener, the team was held by England 1-1 before suffering losses against Korea, Ireland and China.
