Suresh Kalmadi has been re-elected president of the Asian Athletics Association for a second consecutive term.
An Athletics Federation of India statement said, of the 44 nations affiliated to the AAA, 36 unanimously supported Kalmadi's candidature.
His re-election is in recognition of the work he has done in the last term to develop athletics in the continent, it added.
"With the world looking towards Asia for better performances, particularly after Athens, it will be AAA's job to keep focus on Asian athletes as next Olympics is in Asia (Beijing)," Kalmadi said in the statement.
