India's Harsh Mankad enjoyed at good outing at the US $ 50,000 Natrel de Granby hard court ATP Challenger in Canada, advancing in the singles and the doubles on Monday.
Playing on his favourite surface, he beat Japanese qualifier Toshihide Matsui 6-4, 7-6 (4) in the first round and will next face top seed Bjorn Phau of Germany on Wednesday.
In doubles, Mankad and Mustafa Ghouse beat the US-Canadian pair Pierre-Ludovic Duclos and Lesley Joseph 7-5, 6-4 to enter the quarterfinal.
Rohan Bopanna of India and Matsui also entered the doubles quarterfinal with a 6-3, 6-2 victory over Andrew Piotrowski and Alex Reichel.
Bopanna has been drawn against Alexander Popp of Germany for his singles first round later on Tuesday.
