Jordan have delayed the race debut of their new car until next month's inaugural Turkish Grand Prix because of continuing problems with cooling systems.

The Formula One team had hoped to use the heavily-revised EJ15B at the French Grand Prix, 10th of 19 races, earlier this month but that debut was pushed back to Sunday's 12th German round at Hockenheim.

However, Portuguese driver Tiago Monteiro said the Toyota-powered car was still not ready.

"It is extremely regrettable that we will not be able to use the new car but the cooling problems encouraged the team to make the right decision and delay its debut," he said on his website on Tuesday.

"It will now be necessary to review the situation before being able to plan the roll out in Turkey."

Hungary, one of the season's hotter races, follows immediately after the German Grand Prix. There is then a three-week break before Formula One makes its Turkish debut at a new circuit near Istanbul.

Jordan's other driver is Indian Narain Karthikeyan.
