The women's Wimbledon semi-final between Lindsay Davenport and France's Amelie Mauresmo will be completed on Friday after rain stopped play with the American top seed leading 6-7 (5-7), 7-6 (7-4), 5-3 on Thursday.
Play in both women's semi-finals finally got underway at 1625 GMT after a rain delay of nearly four and a half hours.
Venus Williams just had time to end Maria Sharapova's reign as champion with a 7-6, 6-1 victory on Centre Court but the skies opened with Mauresmo 15-0 up as she served to save the match on Court One and the referee decided at 1900 that no further play would be possible.
