Rajpal Singh and Navdeep Singh scored a brace each to give Chandigarh Dynamos a thumping 6-1 win over Imphal Rangers in a Premier Hockey League Tier II match at Hyderabad on Wednesday.
The victory saw Dynamos move to the top of the league table with 18 points.
It was Imphal which surged into lead through M Chittaranjan who scored in the 4th minute from a direct hit as the men from northeast dominated briefly before Navdeep scored to bring parity.
The game slipped out of the hands of Rangers as the Dynamos stepped up their attack and ripped through the weak defence of Imphal Rangers with Navdeep scoring the second goal to have his team lead 2-1 at half time.
Luck smiled on Dynamos again as fit-again Jugraj Singh converted a short corner in the 36th minute with a drag flick to consolidate the lead (3-1).
Rajpal Singh then scored in the 50th minute while skipper Sukhbir Singh Gill made his presence felt by a smart hit from the left, to take the score to 5-1.
Rajpal struck again in the 63rd minute to score the sixth goal for Chandigarh Dynamos.
The Dynamos earned eight penalty corners of which they converted only one with Jugraj showing his skills with the drag flick.
