Indian Davis Cup captain told a press conference with a patriotic fervor late last night that he is forced to shoulder major responsibility for India without much support particularly in singles play due to lack of second string of players.

"Honestly, I am committed to my country and continue to be there since there is not much of talent available now. Yes, it is a fact that Prakash (Amritraj) and Karan Rastogi are coming up. But you need to look at the depth that is lacking for the last few years," he said.

Referring to stalwarts like Ramanathan Krishnan, Vijay Amritraj and Ramesh Krishnan as great players of patriotic feelings and that he derived the same kind of commitment that they had show in their successful days both for India and themselves, Paes noted that "commitment amongst the present lot need to be imbibed."

Saying that he still continue to adhere to the same drill of training and practice for nine hours a day, Paes said "I must recall my days with the BAT where we were taught to train at beach sands and then practice for nine hours. The same continues to be in my scheme of things. Before coming to Chennai now, I was training for nine hours in Florida."
