Pachecho threatens to pull out

February 22, 2005 21:29 IST

President of Fransa Pax Club Micky Pachecho on Tuesday threatened to pull his team out of the National Football League if 'bias' refereeing continued in their remaining matches.

Addressing a press conference after the interval, Pachecho alleged that the referees were targeting their team and favouring certain teams as in the case on Tuesday "where Shaji Kurian awarded a controversial penalty and showed yellow card to Fransa key member Louis Aniweta."

"If this sort of bias refereeing continues by the referees, football in India [ Images ] will be killed," he said.

"Three penalties have been awarded so far against us to Dempo, Sporting Clube De Goa [ Images ] and today against Salgaocar which is a clear indication that referee are out to target a particular team.

"If this sort of things continues, I am afraid I will have to pull out our team from the NFL," Pachecho said.
