International women archers Jhanu Hansda, Dola Banerjee and Reena Kumari have been offered jobs in the state police department, a Jharkhand minister said on Wednesday.
While Jhanu and Dola have been offered ranks of deputy superintendent, Reena was offered to become a police inspector, state Sports Minister Dudesh Mahto said in Ranchi.
The Jharkhand government has decided to give preference to footballers among other sportspersons in the police department, Mahto said.
"We will give job preference to footballers, apart from others, in the police department so that a Jharkhand police football team can participate in Durand Cup in the near future," he said.
"We have also decided to set up football academy at a couple of districts," he added.
