Gurbaaz Mann, who came a hair's breadth close to winning his first professional title at the Surya Nepal Masters 2004, ensured there were no hiccups this time round, romping home to a fantastic win at nine-under 207 at the 2005 tournament, in Association with Nepal Tourism Board, at the par-72, Le Meridien Kathmandu Gokarna Forest Golf Resort.
The winner, who shot a final round five-under 67, pocketed Rs 1,89,840 (Rs 3,03,744 NC), for his effort.
Shiv Shankar Prasad Chowrasia, the second ranked pro on the 2005-06 Amby Valley PGAI Tour Order of Merit, finished tied second with 2002 Surya Nepal Masters winner, Uttam Singh Mundy, at seven-under 209.
The runners-up got took home Rs 1,01,940 (1,63,104 NC) each.
Shamim Khan and overnight leader C Muniyappa finished tied fourth at six-under 210.
Among the Nepalese pros, Deepak Thapa Magar and Toran Shahi finished tied 19th at 218 to pocket Rs 15,360 (24576 NC), while Deepak Acharya recorded a 25th place finish at 220.
Amateur Shivram Shrestha finished a creditable 26th at 221.
Meanwhile, Vivek Bhandari recorded the second hole-in-one of the tournament.
Bhandari used a nine-iron to ace the par-three tenth McDowells Signature hole. Bnandari, like Uttam KC did in the opening round, won his weight in McDowells Signature whiskey.
Sandeep Syal returned an eight-under 64 for the best round of the day. Syal finished tied-eighth at 213.
The prizes were given away by Mr. Tek Bahadur Dangi, CEO - Nepal Tourism Board.
