India's Mahesh Bhupathi and Fernando Gonzalez of Chile upset eighth seeds Simon Aspelin of Sweden and Todd Perry of Australia in straight sets to move into the quarter-finals of the men's doubles event at the Monte Carlo Tennis Masters Series in Monaco.
Bhupathi pairing Gonzalez, instead of his regular partner Todd Woodbridge, got the better of Aspelin and Perry 7-6 (7/3), 6-3 to set up a last eight clash with fourth seeds Wayne Arthurs and Paul Hanley of Australia.
Also making it to the last eight was the fifth seeded pair of Leander Paes and Nenad Zimonjic of Serbia and Montenegro as they thrashed the Argentine pair of Gaston Etlis and Martin Rodriguez 6-1, 6-1 in the second round.
They will now meet Martin Damm and Radek Stepanek of Czech Republic for a place in the last four.
Damm and Stepanek upset second seeds Jonas Bjorkman of Sweden and Max Mirnyi of Belarus 7-5, 6-3 in the round of 16.
