Wrestling federation of India (WFI) has selected 28 women grapplers for attending the national coaching camp ahead of the World Women Freestyle Wrestling championship to be held at Tokyo, Japan on October 8 and 9.
The 15-day camp will start on Monday and continue till October 5 at NIS Patiala, a WFI spokesman said in Haryana on Friday.
Fifteen grapplers from Haryana, five from Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited, four from Delhi and three from Punjab are among the probables.
List: 48 kg - Sumel (MTNL), Nirmal (Haryana), Kamini Yadav (Delhi), Reeta (Nidani);
51 kg - Neha (Haryana), Meema (MTNL), Sunita (Nidani), Renu Bala (Punjab);
55 kg - Sunita (Haryana) Poonam (Nidani), Rachna (Haryana), Binu (MTNL);
59 kg - Alka Tomar (UP), Anita (Haryana), Neelam (Delhi), Krishna (Nidani);
63 kg - Gitika Jakhar (Haryana), Poonam (Nidani), Babita (UP), Manjit (Punjab);
67 kg - Manju (Haryana), Praveen (Haryana), Jyoti (Delhi), Roshni (MTNL);
72 kg - Sonika Kaliraman (MTNL), Neeru (Haryana), Pooja (Delhi), Gursharanpreet Kaur (Punjab).
Coaches: Gian Singh (Railway), Anjali (Maharashtra), Anita (Manipur) and Usha (Haryana).
Meanwhile junior national greco-roman and freestyle wrestling championship for boys will be held at Shimla from October 10 to 12.
Over 250 grapplers from all over India will take part in the three day championship.
