India's top rider Pesi Shroff declared his retirement at the Pune race course on Sunday.
Shroff, who was the vice-president of RWITC Jockey's Association for the last 18 years, was felicitated by RWITC officials and Jockey Association and many well wishers in the paddocks of the Pune race course.
In his 23 years racing career, the 39-year-old jockey rode 5,000 horses. Of these, 1,700 were winners, including 106 of Classic races.
He has won 30 derbys and Indian derbys and 6 turf invitations races.
