Teen tennis sensation Sania Mirza stormed into the semi-finals of the US $25,000 ITF women's tournament, being played at Lagos in Nigeria.
The 17-year-old raced to a convincing 6-2, 6-2 victory against her doubles partner Sherry Stevens of New Zealand in the singles quarter-final to move into the last four.
Sania later paired with Sherry in the doubles to overcome a stiff challenge posed by Marija Abramovic of Croatia and Madhide Johansson of France 6-2, 7-6 (7/4) to reach the semi-finals.
Playing her trademark fast paced game with fast serves, the former Wimbledon girls doubles champion brushed aside the little resistance shown by Sherry winning the first set 6-2.
There was no change in the script in the second set as Sania won it after dropping two games to march into the semi-final.
