France captain Marcel Desailly will retire from international football in August after a friendly against his native Ghana in Rennes, French daily Le Parisien said on Thursday.
According to Le Parisien, the veteran Chelsea defender is to announce his decision in an interview with monthly soccer magazine African Football in June.
Desailly, 35, has 113 caps for France.
However, he is considering playing for another season at club level with Chelsea in 2005, Le Parisien added. There has been speculation that he might play in Qatar next season.
Desailly is in the France squad for Thursday's FIFA centenary match against World champions Brazil in Paris.
