Playing an attacking game, SBT, Thiruvanathapuram, registered a 3-1 victory over FC Kochin in a Second Division clash in the National Football League in Bangalore on Saturday.
Sylvester Ignatius opened the account for the bankmen in the 28th minute with a goal off a pass from Ashif Saheer and the side made it 2-0 in the 57th minute as Adbul Hakkim fired home with Saheer again enacting a similar role.
FC Kochin, also from Kerala like their opponents, pulled one back six minutes later with Rajesh Thomas scoring an opportunistic goal.
SBT goalie Harshal Rehman could not collect a hit from FC Kochin's Liberian import Theodore Wrobeh and the ball popped out. Thomas made no mistake.
SBT then made it 3-1 thanks to substitute Mohammed Rafi who scored off a pass from Ignatius in the 76th minute.
FC Kochin, training under Ghanian Coach Eric Ofori, appeared subdued by aggressive forays by the SBT forwards during the encounter at Bangalore Football Stadium.
