Former champions Mohun Bagan continued their disappointing show, going down 0-1 to Kolkata mates Tollygunge Agragami in a dull eighth National Football League match at the Salt Lake stadium in Kolkata on Tuesday.
After a barren first half, Tollygunge scored the all-important goal seven minutes before full time through Nigerian import Akeem Abolanle to snatch three points.
The win came as a huge boost to relegation-threatened Tollygunge, as their points tally swelled to 17 from 15 matches.
Bagan, who lost their second back-to-back match, having been beaten by Hayward Sporting de Clube in their previous encounter, have 19 points from 15 outings.
Akeem scored in the 83rd minute, when he slotted the ball home after Bagan defender Leonardo failed to clear a long floater from Tollygunge wing-back Amitava Chanda.
