Indian eves blanked Austria 3-0 in their final league encounter to lead Group 'E' with a cent per cent record while the men kept alive their hopes to reach the top spot with a win over Portugal in the World Team Table Tennis Championship at Doha, Qatar.
The eves will now play Group 'F' winner Spain in the positional match to decide the second Division champion.
Only the winner of the India-Spain encounter would qualify for the first division in the next edition of the championship.
The Indian women ensured there were no last minute hiccups as they dominated Austria from the word go and took themselves within striking distance for a place in the higher division.
The men also fared well overcoming the disappointment of the loss against Slovakia to trounce Portugal 3-0.
They are now second in the Group behind the Slovaks and face Egypt in their last league encounter.

Men: India beat Portugal 3-0 (Chetan Baboor beat E Mendes 11-8, 11-8, 11-5; Achanta Sharath Kamal beat J Monteiro 13-11, 11-7, 11-7; Soumyadeep Roy beat T Apolonia 11-8, 2-11, 11-6, 11-4).
