The Indian challenge at the Swiss Open Badminton tournament being played at Basel came to an end in the second round when Trupti Murgunde went down to second seed Zang Ning of China.
Murgunde, the lone Indian survivor in the second round, failed to put up any resistance against the attacking Chinese player and went down 1-11, 1-11 on Thursday night.
Ranked 110th in the World, the Indian had no answers to the aggressive approach of her opponent as she failed to even raise her game to the level which had helped her defeat World No. 29 Charmaine Reid of Canada in the first round.
All other Indians in the fray, National men's champion Chetan Anand, Nikhil Kanetkar, Abhinn Shyam Gupta and women's national champion Aparna Popat had bowed out of the championship in the opening round.
