Mahesh Bhupathi's [ Images ] campaign in the men's doubles at Wimbledon [ Images ] came to an end when he and his partner Max Mirnyi [ Images ] lost in the third round on Monday.

The third seeded Indo-Belarussian pair was beaten by 16th seeds Julian Knowle of Austria and Nenad Zimonjic of Serbia and Montenegro 4-6, 6-3, 6-8.

Bhupathi and Mirnyi had beaten the Dutch pair of Raemon Sluiter and Martin Verkerk in the earlier round.

Earlier, Leander Paes [ Images ], the other Indian in the fray in the men's doubles, and partner David Rikl lost their second round match to Travis Parrott and Vincent Spadea of the United States  6-7(6-8), 3-6.
