Mahesh Bhupathi's campaign in the men's doubles at Wimbledon came to an end when he and his partner Max Mirnyi lost in the third round on Monday.
The third seeded Indo-Belarussian pair was beaten by 16th seeds Julian Knowle of Austria and Nenad Zimonjic of Serbia and Montenegro 4-6, 6-3, 6-8.
Bhupathi and Mirnyi had beaten the Dutch pair of Raemon Sluiter and Martin Verkerk in the earlier round.
Earlier, Leander Paes, the other Indian in the fray in the men's doubles, and partner David Rikl lost their second round match to Travis Parrott and Vincent Spadea of the United StatesĀ 6-7(6-8), 3-6.
