Portugal coach Luiz Felipe Scolari hailed his side's dramatic penalty shoot-out victory against England on Thursday which put them into the semi-finals.
"All wins are delicious, but this one especially, after everything that happened, it was spectacular.
"I said! One Portuguese is worth, with his enthusiasm, with his role, the 40,000 English that are here," Scolari said.
"And to all the Portuguese, congratulations."
England coach Sven-Goran Eriksson said losing on penalties was "very hard".
"We were not lucky with some things but that's football," he said. "The spirit has been fantastic but losing this way is very hard."
