France striker David Trezeguet will miss the European champions' friendly international against Ukraine on Sunday after spraining his ankle, coach Jacques Santini said on Saturday.
The Juventus player picked up the injury during training on Friday and will be sidelined for three to four days.
"We will know more in the afternoon after further tests," Santini told reporters.
He added Trezeguet, 26, should be able to play France's Euro 2004 Group B opener against England on June 13.
"Despite the pain he feels, his ankle is not swollen," said Santini.
"In principle this is not worrying for the England game."
France open the defence of their European title against England in Lisbon before entertaining Croatia and Switzerland for a place in the quarter-finals.
