The Indian challenge at the French Open Tennis championship came to an end on Friday when the boys' pair of Tushar Liberhan and Divij Sharan bowed out of the junior doubles.
The unseeded Indian pair put up a brave fight but could not overcome the challenge of seventh seeds Alex Kuznetsov of USA and Mihail Zverev of Germany in the semi-finals. They lost 6-7(5/7), 4-6.
Liberhan and Sharan had upset the second seed Korean pair of Woong-Sun Jun and Sun-Yong Jr. Kim 6-3, 7-6(7/5) in the second round and then got the better of Phillip Simmonds of the United States and South African Fritz Wolmarans 6-4, 6-2 in the quarter-finals.
