Celtic, beaten in their opening two games in the Champions World Series, have finally recorded a victory, defeating Manchester United 2-1 in Philadelphia.
Chris Sutton gave the Scottish champions a flying start on Wednesday when he converted a penalty after nine minutes in front of a crowd of 55,421 at Lincoln Financial Field.
United hit back through new signing Alan Smith 26 minutes later but Craig Beattie scored the winner for Celtic in the 71st minute.
Beattie has been in top form on the U.S. tour. He grabbed both goals in the 4-2 defeat at the hands of Chelsea last Saturday and also netted in the 5-1 drubbing by Liverpool on Monday.
The series features 11 friendly matches at eight venues across the U.S., involving club sides from England, Italy, Scotland, Portugal, Germany and Turkey.
The next game is on Thursday with Chelsea taking on AS Roma in Pittsburgh.
