The top seeded pair of Mahesh Bhupathi and Elena Likhovtseva moved into the quarter-finals of the mixed doubles at the Wimbledon tennis championships.
The Indo-Russian pair defeated 15th seeds Daniel Nestor of Canada and Lina Krasnoroutskaya of Russia 6-3, 7-6(7-3) in their third round match on Wednesday.
In the quarter-finals, Bhupathi and Likhovtseva are pitted against unseeded Bob Bryan and Lindsay Davenport of the United States, who got the better of Pavel Vizner of the Czech Republic and Lisa McShea of Australia 6-2, 6-3 in another third round match.
Taking a cue from his senior's performance, India's leading junior Karan Rastogi paired with Chu-Huan Yi of Chinese Taipei to carve out a 6-1, 6-3 victory over Argentina's Juan Pablo Amado and Vahid Mirzadeh of the United States in the second round of the boys' doubles.
Rastogi and Yo will meet the second seeded American duo of Brenden Evans and Scott Oudesema in the next round.
The Indian challenge in the girls' doubles had ended in the first round itself with the defeat of Delhi girl Tara Iyer, who had teamed with Elizabeth Kobak of the United States.
