Goa's Dempo Sports Club suffered another tragedy when its fitness consultant Lancy Sequeira died following a massive heart attack at Campal Sports ground at Panaji on Monday, coach-cum-secretary of the club, Armando Colaco said on Wednesday.
Sequeira, 48, former coach of the Indian athletic team, collapsed on the ground while training the Goa squad, Colaco said, adding he was rushed to a nearby hospital but was declared brought dead.
Sequeira was attached to the Sports Authority of India as an athletic coach and was Dempo's fitness consultant for four years.
Earlier on December 5, Dempo's Brazilian striker Christiano de Lima Junior had died soon after scoring a goal in the Federation Cup final against Mohan Bagan at Bangalore.
