Spain lifted their maiden Champions Trophy hockey title beating defending champions Holland 4-2 in a thrilling final at the National Stadium in Lahore on Sunday.
Spain, who went to the half-time with a 1-0 lead, proved their prowess with three strikes after the break to rattle their opponents, who were seeking to win a hat-trick of titles.
Holland put up a valiant fight in their bid to stop their rampaging opponents but failed to repeat their performance of the league stage when they had beaten the Spaniards comprehensively.
In earlier matches, Pakistan overcame India 3-2 for the bronze medal while Germany pushed New Zealand to relegation with a 2-1 win.
Pau Quemeda (18th), Santiago Friexa (51st and 62nd) and Victor Sojo (57th) scored for the winners, while Taeke Taekema (43rd) and Karel Klaver (61st) sounded the board for the Holland team.
