Kalam lauds Major Rajyavardhan Rathore

President A P J Abdul Kalam on Tuesday hailed Major Rajyavardhan Rathore's silver medal feat in the double trap event at the Olympics Games in Athens.

Kalam, who was at the Guru Nanak Dev University for the 400th anniversary celebrations of the installation of the Guru Granth Sahib, said he is looking forward to meet Rathore and greet him.

Dr Gayatri Rathore, wife of Major Rathore, when contacted on phone said the invitation is wonderful and the Olympic hero will be delighted to meet the President.

"It is a great honour and the greatest thing to have happened to us," she added.
