Swimmer Shikha Tandon's odyssey at the 28th Olympic Games came to a tame end on Friday when she finished 40th in the premliminaries of the 50m freestyle swimming event in Athens.
Tandon, the lone Indian swimmer to qualify for the Olympics, could only clock a timing of 27.08 sec and finished sixth in Heat number 6.
The heat was won by Lara Heinz of Luxumberg, who clocked 26.35 seconds while defending champion and World Record holder Inge de Bruijen of The Netherlands recorded the best timing of 24.66.
