Asian hockey powerhouse Pakistan notched up it's first win of the Athens Olympics on Tuesday and in the process charmed crowds with their trademark running game.

Pakistan beat Egypt 7-0 in front of hundreds of fans who danced for joy as big-gun penalty shooter Sohail Abbas eased into a groove and added four goals to his record-chasing tally.

Kashif Jawwad put Pakistan on the right path in the third minute, shooting the ball out of a circle melee.

Two field goals, three Abbas drag flicks and a rocket of a penalty strike followed.
