It was heartbreak for India's Pandari Kummel Paulose as he finished last in the third heat of the men's Single Sculls event at the Schinias Olympic Rowing and Canoeing Centre in Athens on Saturday.
Paulose had a time of 8 minutes 00.11 secs which was way off first-placed Santiago Fernandez's time.
The Argentinian finished in a time of 7 minutes, 22.52 seconds while Austrian Rhapael Hartl was second in 7.34.61 seconds.
The 27-year-old Paulose, the only rower fielded by India, was way behind his other four rivals in heat three. His timing was only slightly better than the worst time recorded in the six heats.
