Live telecast of Olympics opening ceremony

Doordarshan has made elaborate arrangements to cover the 28th edition of the Olympics in Athens.

It will provide round the clock updates on all 17 days of the Games on its Sports Channel. In addition, an Olympics highlights package will be shown on DD-I National Network.

The Opening Ceremony will be telecast live on DD-I on August 13 from 2300 IST to 0300 IST August 14.

A repeat telecast of the Opening Ceremony will be shown on August 14 from 0900 IST to 1200 IST on DD-I.

Daily capsules of India's progress at the Games will be shown, including interviews with players, athletes, coaches, managers and Indians living in Athens.

Curtain raisers on the Games will be telecast on August 11 and 12 at 11 pm on the National Channel (DD-I).

There will be two segments on DD-I: India at Athens and highlights of the day will be telecast from 0730 IST to 0930 IST. The second segment will be from 2300 IST to 0030 IST, except on August 15.

On August 15, the morning segment will be telecast from 1000 IST to 1100 IST

Doordarshan will also telecast live the Closing Ceremony on August 29, from 2330 IST to 0315 IST (next day) on the National Network - DD-I.

The repeat telecast of the Closing Ceremony will be on August 30 from 0900 IST to 1200 IST on DD-I.
