Iran trounced Bangladesh 4-0 in a one-sided league encounter in the under-19 JRD Tata International Football tournament in Jamshedpur on Thursday.
Goals by Milad Midavoodi, captain Milad Nori, Hamed Rasouli and Mohsen Afrozian gave the Iranians, who led 2-0 at half-time, their first victory in the tournament after two draws.
Bangladesh have just one point from four outings.
Bangladesh, who rallied brilliantly against Uzbekistan after trailing 0-3 till the last 15 minutes to snatch a 3-3 draw on Tuesday, failed to put up any resistance against Iran today.
Displaying superb combination and short passing, Iran dominated the proceedings and tore apart the Bangladesh defence.
Iran, comprising several players who had represented the country in the under-17 World Cup in Argentina, surged ahead in the seventh minute when striker Milad Midavoodi scored after receiving a pass from Mohammad Peidaei.
The second goal came in 48th minute (injury time of the first-half) when skipper Milad Nori had a long run with the ball from mid-field before completing the formalities after dribbling past a couple of defenders.
Taking advantage of the weak opposition, Iran increased the attacks after the breather and substitute Hamed Rasouli netted the ball after receiving a cross from Nori.
Following a throw in from the left flank, Mohsen Afrozian, who replaced Mohammad Niknafs in the second half, completed the tally in the 70th minute.
