Prakash Amritraj bowed out of the $15,000 ITF Futures tennis tournament in Jakarta, Indonesia, after retiring hurt in the first round on Monday.
The second seed was trailing 5-7, 1-2 against Australian Sadik Kadir, who lost to Rohan Bopanna in the semi-finals last week, when he conceded the match.
Bopanna, the third seed, is drawn to play Dong-Hyun Kim of Korea while sixth seed Vijay Kannan is to face-off against home qualifier Fandi Suyadi in the first round later on Tuesday.
The injury to Amritraj came on a day when his Entry Ranking on the ATP computer fell by three positions, to 320, with 97 points.
The other two top Indians, Bopanna and Harsh Mankad, too slid in their rankings.
Bopanna is ranked 342, with 88 points, and Mankad, who has entered a $50,000 Challenger event in Kiev, Ukraine, 360, with 81, as per the latest ATP rankings.
