Ace marksman Abhinav Bindra [ Images ] withdrew from the shooting events of the first Afro-Asian Games, being held in Hyderabad, on the advice of his coaches in the United States.
Bindra, who had been undergoing training in Colorado Springs for next year's Olympics [ Images ], pulled out of the Games since he would be left with little time to recover from jetlag after the long journey from the United States, a statement from the shooter's family in Chandigarh said on Thursday.
Bindra was due to arrive in Delhi [ Images ] today and his decision to withdraw from the Games has been conveyed to the National Rifle Association of India [ Images ] by national coach Prof Sunny
Thomas, the statement added.
