India's professional cueist Nalin Patel and fourth seed Druv Sitwala made an exit from the World Billiards Championship, failing to qualify from their respective groups at the end of the league round in Hyderabad on Friday.
Other top players who were shown the door in the new 150-up format event included sixth seed Joe Minici and eighth seed Steve Mifsud of Australia, and India's B Bhaskar and Siddharth Parikh.
Those who made it to the knock-out stage include unsung Loon Hong Moh of Malaysia and Busan Asian Games silver medallist U Kuaw Ol of Myanmar.
