Leading Asian PGA Tour golf star Jyoti Randhawa shot a two-under 70 to tie for the 22nd position after round one of the 150 million yen Mitsui Sumitomo VISA Taiheiyo Masters being played at the Taiheiyo Club Gotenba course at Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan.
The other Indian in the fray Jeev Milkha Singh was tied-66th.
Jeev shot a two-over 74.
Meanwhile, 2003 British Open champion Ben Curtis shot a superb seven-under 65 to lead the field.
Randhawa, winner of the 2002 Order of Merit on the Asian PGA Tour birdied the sixth, 14th, 16th, 18th.
His bogeys came on the third and 13th.
Jeev's card had a different story to tell. The Nationwide Tour regular's birdies on the first, second, ninth and 18th were overshadowed by dropped shots on the fourth, fifth, 13th, 14th, 15th and 17th.
