India's five-match hockey Test series against Olympic champions Netherlands at home in late January has been put off, announced the Indian Hockey Federation.
India, who were looking forward to host the European giants in a one-to-one series for the first time in 26 years, will now try to invite some other team in February before their all-important Olympic qualifiers in Madrid in March.
IHF Secretary K Jothikumaran said, though, the Dutch hockey authorities were yet to give an official intimation, they had sent an e-mail expressing their inability to tour India.
"We have got an e-mail from them stating that due to the recent developments relating to their team management, they cannot make their trip to India," Jothikumaran told PTI over phone from Chennai.
The Dutch side, the reigning Champions Trophy winners, is in a crisis following the boycott of the chief coach by senior players.
