Second seed Sania Mirza of India entered the pre-quarter-finals of the ITF Grade 1 tournament at the Astrid Bowl, Belgium, on Tuesday.
The Hyderabad lass defeated Sarah Raab of Germany 7-5, 4-6, 7-5 in a tough second round match to earn a meeting with Marta Domachowska of Poland in the pre-quarter-final round. Sania had bye in the first round.
She had admitted that clay was not her best surface.
Marta defeated Alexandra Karavaeva of Russia 6-1, 6-1 in her second round match.
On Wednesday, Sanaa Bhambri will face top seed Ryoko Fuda of Japan in the second round match.
There is no news on the doubles draw yet, where the Indians will be in action again.
