Top seed Liza Pereira stretched her winning streak into the third week of the $5,000 ITF women's tennis circuit as she moved into the second round with a scorching victory over Pallavi Sharma at the DLTA courts in Delhi on Tuesday.
Liza, the winner of last week's event at the same venue, did not drop a game on her way to a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Pallavi in the first round.
Isha Lakhani, the second seed, was not far behind. She scored a 6-0, 6-2 victory over Asha Nandakumar, while fourth seed Ankita Bhambri too advanced into the second round with an easy 6-2, 6-2 win over Iciri Rai.
Fifth seeded Archana Venkatraman packed of Korean girl Jung-Yun Shin 6-0, 6-3 but the other foreign entry, Aya Oasa of Japan, tasted success, defeating Sagarika Phadke 6-2, 6-0.
