India budding footballers are set for an experience of a lifetime. They have a chance to play alongside players from soccer giants like Manchester United and Dinamo Kiev in Northern Ireland's 'Milk Cup', to be held in mid July.

The Indian team, originally slated to play in the junior section of the tournament for under-16 boys, has been selected for the under-18 premier category, where they will lock horns with youngsters of heavyweight outfits like Bayern Munich, Leeds United, Manchester United, Dinamo Kiev and River Plate.

Confirming participation in the high profile tournament, All India Football Federation secretary Alberto Colaco said  from Goa on Thursday that the junior Indian side would be selected from among 72 youngsters who will undergo a 45-day training camp under the supervision of chief coach Stephen Constantine from the first week of June.

"Already 50 boys have been shortlisted. Another 22 will be seen before the final squad of 20 is picked," he said.

The Indian team will fly out to Northern Ireland on July 14.

Stating that the prime objective of participation in the tournament is "to gain international experience", Colaco said it is part of AIFF's initiative to provide more overseas exposure to youngsters.

"We don't expect the boys to fare well against such premier clubs. But they will definitely get a taste of top class football. And that is precisely what we are looking for," he added.
