All India Football Federation president P R Dasmunshi says there is no question of awarding the National Football League title to Goa's Vasco Sport Club following the controversy surrounding East Bengal player Douglas D'Silva's overstaying in the country.

"The AIFF has not received any complaintÂ… there is no question of giving Vasco the title," Das Munshi told reporters after the AIFF executive meeting at Varca, Goa, on Saturday.

He was answering a question about Vasco's contention that they should be declared NFL champions as D'Silva had overstayed in India without a proper visa and played the crucial match against Vasco, in which he scored two goals as East Bengal won 4-0 and clinched coveted title.

Stating that the AIFF has not received a complaint to that effect, Dasmunshi said, "It is not the job of the AIFF to investigate or check immigration or visa procedures."

"We handle only extension requests. No one has approached me so far and if at all there has been any violation, then the prevailing laws of the land will take care of it."

"Nobody lodged a protest over the issue before the National Football League ended and raking up the issue now makes no sense. Moreover, even the prize-distribution ceremony has already taken place since there was no protest."

Meanwhile, the one-man committee of the Goa Football Association, headed by Jovito Lopes, submitted its report to the AIFF on the registration of three players on loan by Haywards Sporting Clube, Goa, following an allegation by Fransa Football Club.

The case has been referred to the AIFF disciplinary committee.
