Spain jumps to second place
in latest FIFA list

Spain have moved above France into second place in the latest FIFA world soccer rankings published on Wednesday.

World champions Brazil are still in the top spot with 853 points. Spain, who lead their Euro 2004 qualifying group, have 780 points and France 778.

The only other change in the top 10 sees England replaced in eighth place by Mexico.

Further down the table Guatemala jumped up 27 places to a best-ever position of 54th after recent victories over Nicaragua, El Salvador and Honduras in the CONCACAF Gold Cup qualifiers.

Mongolia celebrated their first international win, 2-0 against Guam in February, by moving up four places to 189th.

Afghanistan's 2-1 victory over Kyrgyzstan on March 16, their first since returning to the international fold, moved them up five places to 198th.
