The All India Football Federation slapped a fine of Rs 100,000 on National Football League Division II champions Haywards Sporting Club, Goa, for registering three players on loan instead of the permitted two.

The fine is to be paid within 30 days, the AIFF said in a statement on Friday, following a disciplinary committee meeting at Margao, Goa.

AIFF rules permit the registration of only two players on loan during a season, but Haywards registered three.

Reacting to the fine, Haywards Sporting president Peter Vaz said "The club will pay the fine as it resulted from a technical mistake.

"We had signed two players but one of them got injured and we signed another player. But on paper it remained three players," he said.

The club had registered Vishant Pednekar (MPT Sports Council), Vicco D'Souza (Dempo) and Bungo Singh (Salgaocar) on loan last season.

It was also decided to ban the Haywards Sporting official responsible for the goof-up.

The committee also suspended a Mizoram Football Association official for a year for fielding over-aged players in the zonal under-21 championship.

In another major decision, the disciplinary committee rejected Vasco's protest against National Football League champion East Bengal's Brazilian recruit Douglas Silva Dos Santos, contending that the player had overstayed in the country, saying the player held valid documents.

India defender S Venkatesh, who did not report for the national camp due to his mother's ill health, was let off with a warning.
