Gajjar, Sipaeya in second round

Eighth seed Rohan Gajjar and former Asian junior champion Sunil Kumar Sipaeya moved into the second round of the ITF men's Satellite tournament in Delhi [ Images ] on Monday.

Gajjar packed off wild card compatriot Parantap Chaturvedi 6-1, 6-4 while Sipaeya ousted Israel's Eliran Dooyev 6-4, 6-3 in first round matches of the circuit's third leg.

Fourth seed Indonesian Prima Simpatiaji overcame a first-set deficit to defeat Richard Crabtree of Great Britain 3-6, 6-4, 6-1.

Takeshi Itoh of Japan [ Images ] too came through a three-setter to edge out Tomer Suissa of Israel 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 in another tie.

The seeded players launch their campaign tomorrow.

Prakash Amritraj [ Images ], who won the second leg at Chandigarh, has been top seeded while the winner of first leg in Mumbai [ Images ], Daniel Kiernan of Great Britain is seeded two.

Vijay Kannan, Simpatiaji, Mustafa Ghouse, Vinod Sridhar, Febi Widhiyanto (Indonesia), and Rohan Gajjar are seeded three to eight in that order.
