C Vijay Kumar of Team TVS came up with another classy performance to emerge the overall winner of the showpiece event -- the Foreign Open Class -- in the second round of the MRF National Motocross Champion.
Beaten to second place by arch-rival Yogesh Barguje of Team Yamaha in the 12-lap Moto 1 earlier in the day, Vijay Kumar dominated the proceedings in the second round and capped his fine performance with an emphatic victory.
The first round saw Team Yamaha make a solid start as T K Vishwanath took the lead at the start, followed by TVS Racing's Gopal Prasad, Barguje and Vijaut when Vishwanath and Prasad suffered a fall and lost positions, it was a straight fight between Barguje and Vijay Kumar.
Barguje managed to hang on to win the Moto 1 but in Moto 2, Vijay Kumar made it a start-to-finish affair to win
comfortably from Yamaha's Sayed Eathasham and TVS Racing's Sayed Rehman.
The MRF Motocross championship takes a two-month break with the third round scheduled to be held at Vadodara in late August.
