Assam thrashed Delhi 7-0 in Group 'B,' while Uttar Pradesh downed Rajasthan 3-0 in Group 'D' in the National women's football championship in Chennai on Wednesday.
Uttar Pradesh completed their engagements in the three-team group with a win and a loss against Tamil Nadu.
Tamil Nadu and UP are likely to progress to the quarter-final league.
In the three-team Group 'B', Delhi bowed out of the reckoning with two losses. Assam and Maharashtra won a match each and will play each other to decide the group winners.
Against Rajasthan, UP had the better share of the exchanges in the barren first-half. However, UP went ahead in the 45th minute through an opportunistic goal by Punam Chauhan and then Kalpana Devli netted twice (53rd and 76th minutes).
For Assam, who led 2-0 at the break, Reena Boro (2), Anjana Peg (2), Pratima Gogai, Meenakshi Borgoyan and Kunti Dighal were the scorers.
