Indian juniors Sanaa Bhambri and Sania Mirza entered the second round of theĀ girls' doubles at the French Open on Monday.
The wildcard Indian team defeated the French pair of Virginie Ayassamy and Laura Thorpe 6-2, 6-1 in a first round match.
They will face Mari Andersson of Sweden and Megan Falcon of the United States in the second round.
Sania is currently ranked 13th in the doubles while Sanna is ranked 63rd. In April this year, the duo had won the Grade 1 doubles title at the Shuzo Challenge Japan Open Junior Championships.
In the boys' doubles, sixth seeds Somdev Dev Varman and Karan Rastogi lost to Jerome Becker and Andreas Weber of Germany 6-7 (5-7), 6-4, 2-6 in a first round match
