The Indian junior spikers, now training in Egypt as part of their preparation for the World Junior Volleyball championship, to be held at Tehran in August, narrowly beat the hosts in their second match of the tour on Monday.
Volleyball Federation of India secretary general K Murugan said the team recovered from the loss of the first set to win 20-25, 25-23, 25-22, 22-25, 15-9.
Egypt are also among the teams for the World championship.
The Indians, who finished second in Tunisia's annual tournament before going to Egypt, combined well. Vikram and Kasi came up with some good serving while blockers Kishore and Rahul, after a slow start, recovered from the second set onwards and Mithilesh excelled as the attacker.
The first match on the tour, on July 20, had to be abandoned midway due to a power failure, when the match was level at two sets each.
The Indian juniors will play three more matches against Egypt juniors and one against their seniors.
